Research Help ON SITE RESEARCH Reference Room hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Saturday. The Archives is closed for all state and most federal holidays. When the holiday falls on Friday or a Monday, we are also closed on the Saturday following the Friday holiday or immediately preceding the Monday holiday. Original documents are retrieved from 8:30 to 4:00 p.m., and may be viewed in the Original Document Reading Room until 4:45 p.m. Research Registration Form —You may fill out in advance and bring it with you when you register Notes for Researchers -Use of Cameras OFF SITE RESEARCH Ask An Archivist – Ask a brief reference question by e-mail. Virtual Vault – You may wish to review the documents in the Virtual Vault. The Vault includes some death certificates, marriage records, and land related records. Professional Researcher If you cannot visit the archives you may wish to obtain the services of a professional researcher. Research by Telephone If you are with a legislative office, state agency, or local government, you may call 678-364-3710 for reference assistance. You may be routed to voice mail, but we will return your call as soon as possible. For all other reference questions, including questions related to family history, please use the general information on this site or select the Ask An Archivist service listed above.
