A3. To obtain a state license as a residential-basic, residential-light commercial, general contractor-limited tier or general contractor, you must:
1. Submit a completed application for licensure by examination and non-refundable fee, along with all the supporting documents as indicated by the application.
2. If you already have been approved or licensed via a prior application, please submit a completed application for licensure by prior approval and non-refundable fee, along with all the supporting documents as indicated by the application, and pass an examination required for the particular license.
