Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology at its February 11 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology met Wednesday, February 11, 2009.

The Board voted to deny the following applicants licensure:

  • Luz Patricia Lopez, Lawrenceville
  • Glenys M. Disla, Forest Park
  • Rosa Gladis Hernandez, Lawrenceville
  • Solvita Gleason, Duluth
  • Sandra P. Hinton, Flowery Branch

The Board voted to dismiss the citation against Nail Groove, Atlanta.

The Board voted to close the following cases:

  • Spa South, Riverdale
  • JC Nails, Jesup
  • Jacky’s Braiding, Forest Park
  • Jazz Beauty Salon, Red Oak
  • Jeffrey Brooke Salon, Atlanta
  • Jerry’s Style Beauty Shop, Lenox
  • Kay’s Beauty Salon, Forest Park
  • Kemyja Hair Design, Powder Springs
  • Kourouma Extravaganza, Atlanta
  • Kutt-N-Up, Atlanta

The Board voted to remove the following two agencies from the approved translator’s list:

The Board voted to approve the following Continuing Education Providers:

The Board voted to approve the class “2009 America’s Beauty Show” as an additional continuing education class provided by the Cosmetologists Chicago Association’s trade show in Chicago, IL.

The Board voted to accept the following consent orders:
