Actions Taken by the Georgia Board State Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies at its February 24 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies held its meeting on Thursday, February 24, 2011.
The Board approved 26 company licenses, seven instructor licenses and one employee license.
The Board approved a request for a 180 day grace period from the following licensee to replace the company’s designee:
- U.S. Investigations Services, LLC, Falls Church, VA
The Board approved a request to allow five hours of training for a conference given by the Georgia State Board of Workers Compensation to be used towards continuing education requirements for the upcoming 2011 renewal period from the following licensee:
- William E. Tabor, Jr., Marietta
The Board voted to ratify the following cease and desist orders issued for unlicensed practice:
- Delvan Demarcus Jones, Lithonia
- Charles McDonald, Bad Security Company, McDonough
- Tarius Bernard Newsome, Warner Robins
The Board approved the following meeting dates for the remainder of the year:
- Thursday, April 21, 2011
- Thursday, June 23, 2011
- Thursday, August 25, 2011
- Thursday, October 27, 2011
- Thursday, December 8, 2011
Glade Johnson was elected Chairman of the Board for 2011.
The Board voted to have Chief Woodrow Blue, Jr. of Milledgeville serve as it’s liaison to the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council (POST). This partnership will allow the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies and POST to work collectively on matters affecting both organizations and the industry as a whole.
The Georgia State Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies will hold its next meeting Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
