SECRETARY OF STATE HANDEL APPOINTS CORPORATIONS DIVISION DIRECTOR

ATLANTA—Secretary of State Karen Handel is proud to announce the appointment of Chauncey Newsome to Director of the Corporations Division. The Corporations Division oversees the registration and renewal process for Georgia’s over 630,000 corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships.

“Chauncey’s strong customer service, process management and leadership skills are exactly what we need at the helm of our Corporations Division,” Secretary Handel said.

Chauncey Newsome has a tremendous amount of experience in business management, customer service, quality assurance and vendor relations.  Newsome had a long and successful career with AT&T, starting as a sales representative and working his way up to vendor manager.

In addition to his corporate experience, Newsome teaches management and leadership development at Clark Atlanta University.  A 1992 graduate of Morehouse College, Chauncey has a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Emory University, and serves as a pastoral counselor.

Chauncey and his wife, Monique, have two children, Elijah, 9, and Malaika, 7. The family lives in Decatur.
