Atlanta— Secretary of State Karen Handel launched a new website today aimed at assisting Georgians seeking resources and information from her office.  Users can visit the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov.  

“In the 21^st century, many people look for the resources and the information they need on the internet, before they ever pick up the phone,” Secretary Handel said.  “My office has designed this website to have important information and necessary forms available to the public at all times, ensuring we’re available whenever they need us.”   

The new website features a streamlined look with several important links available directly from the main page, and allows users to complete necessary forms over a secure connection.  From the website, users can:

• File incorporations and renewals;
• Renew a professional license;
• View historical documents from the Georgia Archives;
• Print voter registration and absentee ballot request forms;
• Learn about Georgia’s Photo ID requirement to vote.

Karen Handel was sworn in as Secretary of State in January 2007. The Secretary of State's office offers important services to our citizens and our business community. Among the office’s wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting efficient and secure elections, the registration of corporations, and the regulation of securities and professional license holders. The office also oversees the Georgia Archives and the Capitol Museum.
